Marshall's Blessing Day

On Sunday, December 27, 2009 we blessed Marshall in church. It was a great day full of family and friends. There was about 45 people that came to church just for Marshall's blessing. The place was packed. We missed a lot of friends and family that weren't able to attend, but cherished the ones that were there in spirit.

Grandma Carol made my white outfit and Grandma Krista made my white blanket.

2 month check-up

Today was Marshall's 2 month check-up. He's huge! 14 pounds 7 ounces, 24 3/4 inches long (both in the 90th percentile.) We love seeing him grow day by day. He smiles at us now, batts at toys, babbles and is getting cuter everyday.

Marshall Lee Palmer

He's here! We would like to welcome Marshall Lee Palmer to our family. He was born on 10/27/2009 at 8:10pm. He came in at 8 pounds 7 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long.

It wasn't an easy labor to say the least. My water broke that morning about 3am when I woke up to go to the bathroom. AAron thinks it's funny that my water broke while I was on the toilet, no mess to clean up. We went to the hospital and checked in about 3:45am. Things were progressing sort of slowly...so they gave me pictocin (I do not like that drug.) I got my epidural about 9am and didn't start pushing until 4:40pm. I pushing for 4 hours and they had to vacuum him out and give me an epistomy. (yucky!) He has a huge head and it wasn't quite turned right. If the vacuum didn't work they were going to have to do a c-section. I would have been so mad if after 17 hours of labor I received a c-section also.

It's been a change...I keep thinking he is someone else's, and they are going to come and take him away. But he is OURS! and we love him so much.
I finally got about 7 hours or so of sleep last night (thank you time change!) and am not feeling so zombie like.

Hope to post more so we can keep a record of just how quickly he is going to change.

Too much fun!

OK so the title really isn't true. We have not been having that much fun. AAron is back in school and has two classes a week at night. These classes will allow him to get his degree from Butte (finally) and then take some other classes at Butte that will transfer to Chico State for his major there! Yeah! He also had surgery on his wrist for tendinitis last month.
I received wonderful baby showers at work and church/friends. Hope to post pictures of that soon. We are pretty well set for this baby to come. I can not wait to be able to sleep without heartburn/acid reflux every night.
I also came down with something that was going around work last week and spent 3 days at home and 3 hours at prompt care that was a total wast of time and money since they did not diagnose me with anything just it wasn't strep or the flu. I can tell you that coughing while you are 37-38 weeks pregnant is not fun and the baby hates it. My stomach is so sore from coughing, but I think I am almost over it. (It's been a week and a half!) I even shared it with AAron and was jealous that he could take good drugs to get rid of it and all I could take was Tylenol and cough drops!
I have 12 days until the baby's due date. I'm still at work and will be until next week sometime unless this baby decides to come this week (hopefully not!) My next appointment is Thursday and the Doctor will see if anything is happening down there!
It's raining here today, and since I have been pregnant all through the nice weather I have one pair of pants! and one pair of shoes that I can wear in this type of weather. I told work that I'll have to stop coming in since I won't have anything to wear soon. The baby has dropped and is head down, so so far so good. It just means that now my belly is lower and my shirts are shorter!
Well, I guess that is enough complaining for one night. I need to go clean up all the clothes that I threw around the room this morning trying to find something to wear to work.

Summer Vacarion is over!

So I know that I haven't blogged recently. I think it's because I started doing this when AAron was in class, and he did not have class this summer. So here it is his first day of class and I'm blogging again.
Everything is coming along with the baby just fine. We have settled on the names Marshall Lee or Mia Lee. Lee is a family thing for AAron to have the first child's middle name as Lee, (it is his middle name since he is the oldest.) We finally bought the crib on Saturday. I love it! Real wood and it didn't cost a fortune. It will also convert to a toddler bed and a full size bed too! Since we don't have a lot of room I don't know if I want to buy the matching dresser. I know that we would use it and it would become a set with the crib. We will have to see. The crib was a must!
I am now in my 31st week, and going to the Doctor every two weeks. My back hurts at the end of the day, I think I have Sciatica and I only have about 3 pairs of shoes that fit these feet. I am looking forward to the summer ending and cooling off a bit. It has been getting cooler at night which is nice to not sleep with the air on.
Hopefully I will post some picture of what we did this summer sometime soon. (Not much.)

Camping and the Humboldt Redwoods.

We went camping at Humboldt State Park in the Redwoods from May 29-June 1. It was a nice little vacation to start our Summer off right.

We went for hikes in the the forest and looked at some HUGE trees. We took a little trip to Eureka (not much to do or see), played in the river and fed some Blue Jays.

We also hugged some trees, why not right?

We found this nasty Banana Slug in our camp one morning. It was nasty. I don't think that I had ever seen one in person before. This once was enough for me.

Well, that's enough for now. Soon to come baby update and pictures of me, and the baby bump. Doctors appointment is Tuesday.

Chico Outlaws Game.

AAron and I went to opening night of the Chico Outlaws Baseball team on Memorial Day. It was perfect weather, about 10 pm I even got a little cold. The game was long but very fun also.

Here is the mascot parachuting in from a helicopter on to the field before the game started. He did a great job landing between 1st and 2nd base.

The Outlaws won 15-5. It was a slow game, we got home almost 11:00pm and had to work the next day.

We found this HUGE moth at the game. When it flew by I thought it was a hummingbird. I showed it to a little boy near by and he looked at it and slowly backed away. I thought he would have thought it was cool, but I guess he was not a fan of HUGE bugs.

This game officially marks Summer Vacation for AAron. He loves to go to games and we will probably go to at least 3 more this summer.

The West Family

Today we got to spend some wonderful fun with the West Family. AAron and Aaron were roommates in College and we haven't seen them in over 5 years! It was really nice to see them and their little family. We went to Caper Akers and them Pizza. We of course bought them the essential "Aaron gifts" of Bubbles and sidewalk chalk. Sorry no pictures to share. Darn!

Kite Flying

So over a month ago in March, AAron and I went to fly kites after Church. It was blowing so hard all throughout church that AAron had a hard time staying at church since he wanted to go fly so bad. So after we changed we loaded up the car with AAron's abundance of kites (seriously he has more than 20.) OK, let me explain first. He use to work at a kite factory and he would get the test color kites, so he didn't buy all of these kites he kind of acquired them. So we went and flew the kites and it wasn't the best day of kite flying (One broke) but we still had fun on a windy spring day.

Our Baby!

OK, so here is the news that we have been dying to tell people but we had to wait until today to do so. We are expecting! Due date is 10/25/2009. I went to the Doctor today and had my first sonogram. Sorry the picture wouldn't load or you would be able to see it too. We are super excited but also terrified at the same time.

Facebook

For all of you that have a facebook account you probably already realize this but I LOVE FACEBOOK! There are so many people on it that you have met in your life that you can re-connect with, and it's so easy to find people. All you need to know is there name, or if you went to school with them it's even easier. It's easy to drop them a little note to say "HI" or "How are you!" All and all it great and totally FREE! (That's the part I love.) Well, more to come later. TTFN!

Geocaching

Ok, so those of you that don't know, AAron has been is the scouting program for about as long as we have been married. It's loads of fun for me. (Not really.) But he went to training last month and had a class about Geocaching. I have actually gotten in to it a little also. It's like a mondern day treasure hunt. People go out and "hide" things and put the GPS cordiantes on a website and you go and "find" what people hide. Inside what was hidden is a log that you write your name on and then you go back and log that you found or did not find the treasure. We've gone out two Saturdays just around where we live but it has been fun. So far we found 11 and gave up on 3. If you have little boys about cub scouts age, (age 8) they love things like this. If you want more information let me know. All it takes is a hand held GPS and a website. The rest is free.

Goodbye Elder Ackerman

So Christopher left on Thursday to the Birmingham, England mission via the Preston, England MTC. He left on Thursday from the Sacramento Airport, flew to Atlanta, Georgia, then from Atlanta flew to Manchester England. We went about two weeks ago to the Sacramento Temple for his session, it was a beautiful day, as you can see. Well the in-laws are almost finished moved, (HOORAY!) So hopefully life will start to slow down now. AAron starts school on Monday and is taking 9 units at night after working a full 40 hour work week. His life might be faster but mine should slow down.

Make time stop spinning out of control! PLEASE!

I feel like the world is turning so fast that I need to get off and throw up! Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, the in-laws buying and moving in to a new house, my brother-in-law leaving for a mission this Thursday, scout meetings, relief society planning and enrichment meetings, work, school starting again soon for AAron and various other little things to do, there is no time to stop and breath. We just returned from the Sacramento area for the 2nd time in 2 weeks and will go there on Thursday as well. Now AAron's complaining that I need to go spend time with him before we pass out for the night. Until later, hopefully at a slower pace of life.

9 Years already!

January 4, 2000. That is when AAron asked me out. I almost forgot about it yesterday but AAron reminded me as we sat in church. 9 years together, what I wish I knew 9 years ago. (just kidding)

I'm starting to get it!

I'm finally starting to get the hang of this blogging thing. Yeah! No more time right now to blog since I have to write a history for the past year and I don't have all the information that I need to do so, and it's due tomorrow! Also, AAron isn't home to bug me while I work on it.
